Approval Requirements
The American Express Credit Cards will have rather stringent approval requirements. However this card in our opinion is the best credit card on the market!
Despite it not being accepted everywhere it will be accepted most places. The reason it is the best is simply the reward programs.
This is also why they will charge you an annual fee. You will be offered an introductory first year $0 annual fee and then pay about $150 after than per year. We believe this is worth the fee especially if you are doing substantial spending in your life or with your business.
However if you are only using your credit card a little bit, we instead would suggest a regular Visa or MasterCard without an annual fee.
You will typically need a credit score of 650 or higher to qualify for any American Express cards. If you are applying for a business card they may check your personal credit depending on the age of the business.
In sum we do enthusiastically suggest any and all American Express products and personally and professionally use them. We have been very impressed with their exceptional customer service, aggressive reward programs, flexible spending limits, and their $0 fraud liability.
